About This Tool

The Coordinate Picker lets you find the precise geographic coordinates of any point on Earth by clicking the map or searching by place name. Multiple points can be placed in a single session; each point shows its coordinates independently in your chosen format.

Input

A map click or a place-name search query powered by Nominatim / OpenStreetMap geocoding. The search returns the best-matching location and snaps the map to it; you then click to pin the exact point.

Output

The selected point expressed in three coordinate systems — Decimal Degrees (DD), Degrees Minutes Seconds (DMS), and Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) — with one-click copy for each individual value or all values at once.

Coordinate Systems

DD
Decimal Degrees. Latitude and longitude as plain decimal numbers (e.g. 37.7749°, −122.4194°). Positive values denote North and East; negative values denote South and West. The default format for digital mapping, GPS devices, and web APIs.
DMS
Degrees Minutes Seconds. The traditional surveying format, subdividing each degree into 60 arcminutes and each minute into 60 arcseconds (e.g. 37° 46′ 29.6″ N, 122° 25′ 9.8″ W). Used in printed nautical charts, astronomy, and older navigation equipment.
UTM
Universal Transverse Mercator. A metric planar system dividing the Earth into 60 longitudinal zones of 6° each. A point is described by zone number, Easting (metres east within the zone), and Northing (metres north from the equator). Widely used in topographic mapping, military grid systems, and fieldwork.
